Susan Sallis (born November 7, 1929 in Gloucester , England ) is a British writer . Her focus is on contemporary novels, youth novels and family sagas. She also uses the pen name Susan Meadmore.

Life

Sallis attended Girls High School in Gloucester and St. Matthias College of Education in Bristol . She worked as a teacher. In 1955 she married Brian Sallis; she has a daughter and two sons. She lives in Somerset .

She received the American Library Award for her work "Sweet Franny".
