Susanne Lenz-Gleißner , (born August 21, 1962 in Luxembourg ) is a German journalist.

Life and work

After studying teaching and doing an internship at the Süddeutscher Rundfunk in Stuttgart, Lenz-Gleißner worked as a reporter, editor and presenter for the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt (Main). Here she moderated 1989-1992 a. a. the weekly youth program “Radio Unfrisiert”, which has received numerous awards. Lenz-Gleißner made his first experiences in the field of television at ZDF in Mainz. She moderated the program "Colon demanded", which was broadcast on 3Sat. Lenz-Gleißner has been with Deutsche Welle in Berlin since 1993, and has headed the Kultur Aktuell department since June 2019. She has been the Deputy Head of DW's Culture and Life Department since February 2017. Before that, she was editor and author for the programs KULTUR.21 and KINO and worked as a reporter in the DW newsroom. From 1993 to 1997 she was an editor, then head of DW's youth department. Here she was u. a. responsible for the weekly live broadcast “100 GRAD”, a co-production with the ORB , which was also broadcast on ARD at times. Moderators from 100 DEGREES were u. a. She has directed documentaries such as “Gutenberg im Cyberstorm. On the value of the book in the digital age ”,“ Afro.Deutschland ”(co-director) or“ Udo Lindenberg - Godfather of German Rock ”(director). In Germany, the USA, the Netherlands, South Africa, Morocco, Brazil, France, Turkey, Azerbaijan and the like. a. Lenz-Gleißner produced television reports, reports and TV programs. Susanne Lenz-Gleißner is the daughter of Ursula Lenz geb. Heinrich and Carl Otto Lenz , who was a member of the German Bundestag (CDU) and advocate general at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. Lenz is the son of the lawyer Otto Lenz , who supported the resistance against the Nazi dictatorship and co-founded the CDU in Berlin.

Susanne Lenz-Gleißner is married to the press spokesman Thomas Gleißner and has two grown children.
