Susanne Wiesinger (* 20th century ) is an Austrian teacher , education officer and book author .

Life

Susanne Wiesinger worked as a teacher for many years before she became known to a wide audience in Austria. In 2018, her book Kulturkampf im Klassenzimmer was published, in which she identified and addressed a problem of integration and values ​​in schools in Vienna. Its first publication received a lot of media attention. Wiesinger had previously worked as a primary school teacher and as an NMS teacher in Vienna- Favoriten and as a staff representative for the teachers' union at the Vienna City School Council. In February 2019 she was appointed ombudswoman for questions of values ​​and cultural conflicts by the then Education Minister Heinz Faßmann . In the course of this activity she wrote her activity report for the ombudsman for questions of values ​​and cultural conflicts. An analysis of existing challenges and practical solutions .

During this time, against the background of her work as head of the ombudsman, she wrote her second book Machtkampf in the Ministry , which deals with the influence of politics on the school system. Before the book was published in January 2020, her work as ombudswoman was terminated prematurely.
