Suworowhaus
The Suworowhaus is a residential building from the 1670s in Elm in the Swiss canton of Glarus . It is a brick town house with baroque facade paintings and an old interior. The Russian general Alexander Wassiljewitsch Suworow spent the night of October 4th to 5th, 1799 there, before he fled with his army from French troops over the snow-covered Panixer Pass .
On behalf of Kaspar Rhyner , the Suworowhaus was restored in 1970 and 1971 and placed under federal and cantonal protection.
