Kaspar Rhyner

Kaspar Rhyner (born December 27, 1932 in Glarus , entitled to live in Elm ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

In Elm , he chaired the municipal electricity works commission from 1963 to 1990 and the building commission from 1967–82. 1967-90 he was on the local council .

As a member of the government , he headed the building department from 1971 to 1998. During his term of office, numerous public buildings were established. From 1973 to 1978 he was provincial governor and 1978–82 mayor . From 1990 to 1998 he was also on the Council of States .

As a member of the board of directors , he is a member of various organizations, including the Sernftal car company , NOK , Bündner Kraftwerke and Heliswiss .

In 1970 and 1971 he had the Suworow house he lived in in Elm restored and placed under federal and cantonal protection. He is also president of the «pro» Elm foundation.
