The Inazuma 250 (Japanese for "lightning" ) is a relatively inexpensive (entry-level) motorcycle from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki . The new model is designed without fairing as a so-called naked bike for the global market and was presented in 2012. In North America the model is called "GW 250" . In Switzerland, the motorcycle was offered for CHF 4,980 (approx. EUR 4,100 ) at the end of 2012 . For the 2015 model year, a fully faired version "250F" was added to the range.

The motorcycle has a 250 cm³ two-cylinder engine with a six-speed gearbox and a gearshift indicator (which can be switched off) for two different driving styles (normal and eco). It is available in red and black.

The Suzuki Inazuma 250 was pushed to the top of the new motorcycle registrations in Germany in January 2014 as an underrated candidate; it was thus the best-selling motorcycle in Germany.

criticism

The magazine Motorrad criticized the relatively high curb weight of 187 kg (manufacturer information: 182 kg) for a 250cc machine and the lack of ABS , which is also not available for an extra charge. Due to its high weight, the Inazuma always requires high speeds in order to accelerate quickly. Furthermore, the wobbly steering behavior disturbs, and the high consumption of 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers is to be blamed. Other weaknesses are the “poor brakes” and the “partly loveless parts” on the motorcycle.

Among other things, the high running smoothness of the in-line two-cylinder and the quiet double exhaust system, which creates a "subtle bubbling" , were praised . Likewise, the successful suspension set-up, which offers the pilot a lot of comfort and still has reserves for a pillion passenger.
