Sven Grosse

Sven Grosse (born November 29, 1962 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German Protestant theologian , pastor and professor for historical and systematic theology at the state-independent Theological University (STH) Basel.

Life

Between 1983 and 1989 he studied Protestant theology , philosophy and Catholic theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Tübingen . From 1990 to 1992 he was a doctoral student at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD. After teaching vicariate (1992–1995) and ordination as pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria , he received a habilitation scholarship at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he completed his habilitation in 1999. From 1999 to 2008 he was a private lecturer in church history there . During this time he also held a substitute professorship for church history at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau (2005) and a substitute professorship for church history at the University of Hamburg (2007-2008). After a research stay at Marquette University (Milwaukee, USA) in 2008, he began teaching historical theology at the non-state STH Basel in 2008 , where he has been professor of historical and systematic theology since 2009 .
