Christine Christ-von Wedel

Christine Christ-von Wedel (* 1948 in Reinbek as Christine von Wedel ) is a German-Swiss historian .

Life

Christ graduated from high school in 1967 and studied history , philosophy and church history from 1968 to 1971 at the Philosophical and Theological Faculties of the University of Basel, as well as singing at the Basel Music Academy . In 1979, she was with a thesis on Erasmus of Rotterdam doctorate . In 1999 she accepted a teaching position at the theological faculty of the University of Zurich . From 2012 to 2015 she was president of the board of mission 21 . In 2015 she received the Science Prize of the City of Basel.

Her main research interests are humanism and the Reformation .

Christine Christ-von Wedel is married to the pastor Hieronymus Christ.
