Sven Hartmann (born April 5, 1988 in Großröhrsdorf ) is a German basketball player. Hartmann is 1.88 meters tall and weighs 80 kg. He plays in the position of point guard and shooting guard .

Sven Hartmann began his career as a youth at TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In 2006/07 he first attracted attention when he was in the youth basketball league squad of the Giants Academy. However, the team only made it into the 1st round of the NBBL playoffs and was eliminated there against Bramfelder SV . Since Hartmann was too old to play in the NBBL after the season, he was now a basketball player for the Giants' regional league team.

When Bayer AG announced that it was withdrawing from sponsoring the Bayer Giants Leverkusen, the Giants' 2nd men's team, which played in the 1st regional league, became the Leverkusen's 1st men's team. Sven Hartmann started the season as co-captain of the Bayer Giants in the 2008/09 season. Driven by frenetic fans and a good team, the Leverkusen team surprisingly managed to get promoted to the ProB .

Before the 2009/10 season, Bayer Giants Leverkusen announced the extension of Hartmann's contract. He is thus in his 1st season as a player in the ProB. He is also active as a double license player for Giants Düsseldorf .

After the 2010/11 season, Bayer Giants Leverkusen announced that their contract with Sven Hartmann would not be extended. This means that the 22-year-old's career in the Bayer jersey ends for the time being after 14 years of membership in the club.
