Sven Pedersen
Sven Pedersen (born July 26, 1949 in Helsingør ) is a Danish chess and correspondence chess player .
Correspondence chess
Pedersen began correspondence chess in 1965. In 1969 he won the Danish correspondence chess championship. With a victory in a major tournament in the European master class, he qualified for the 21st European Championship. Here he became European champion in 1985. Because of this success and the good performance at the 2nd European Team Championship in 1982, the World Correspondence Chess Federation ICCF awarded him the title of International Correspondence Chess Champion in 1985 .
Tournament chess
Pedersen plays for the Skovlunde chess club from Ballerup Municipality . His Elo number is 2090 (as of October 2014), in July 2007 he reached his highest Elo number of 2156.
Private
Pedersen works as a civil engineer.
