Sven Wittfot (born November 27, 1974 in Lübeck ) is a former German professional footballer .
Career
Wittfot started the soccer game at the small Lübeck club ESV Hansa before moving to 1. FC Phönix Lübeck . There he played in a successful youth team, which among other things was Schleswig-Holstein national champion of the B-Juniors in 1991 and took part in the German championship. During that time he was also appointed to the extended squad of the junior national teams of the DFB .
The following year, as an A-youth, he and his team were promoted to what was then the Oberliga Nord for A-Juniors and moved to Hamburger SV . He was considered a hopeful talent. Subsequently, Wittfot was initially part of the HSV amateurs squad, played there in the Regionalliga Nord and was elected team captain.
Thanks to constant performance, Wittfot received a professional contract, but could not prevail. In 1996/97 he only played two Bundesliga games under interim coach Ralf Schehr and switched back to amateur football via VfB Lübeck to FC Schönberg 95 .
