Svenner Channel

The Svenner Channel ( English is) an up to 750 m below sea level lying Tiefseerinne in the Prydz Bay in East Antarctica . It splits into two branches. The south-western one is 22 km long and 5 km wide, the north-eastern one reaches a length of 70 km with an average width of 17 km.

The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them based on the naming of the Svennerøyane archipelago , which in turn is named after an archipelago in the Sandefjord in southern Norway.
