Svizzer Desktop Search was a free freeware program for desktop searches from G10 Software AG, which was dissolved in 2007. It was equipped with numerous functions for searching in the local data. The different filters helped to narrow down the search. You could filter by data type, importance, period or directories. In addition, Svizzer supports the search for and in e-mails by enabling specific searches for terms that only appear in the subject, sender, recipient or content. In the result list, documents with the same content (duplicates) were marked in red.

In addition, it was with Svizzer a built Metawebsuche several Internet search engines ( Google , Yahoo , MSN , etc.) simultaneously and free of advertising or sponsored links to search. SiteSearch is a specific web search that can be used to create lists of specific web pages to be searched for. This creates the possibility of more focused searches on the web and of putting together your own topic search engine (s) with individually selected websites.

Further products

Svizzer Client Professional was an advanced desktop search engine. In addition to the scope of the free version, Svizzer Professional offered the possibility to search files from Microsoft Exchange. With Svizzer Professional you could also search through files that are stored in storage locations that are connected as network paths. Svizzer Professional was also able to index files that are on removable media ( CD , DVD , USB storage media ).

Svizzer Enterprise Server allowed direct access to centrally indexed databases and displayed the data regardless of whether direct access to the original file is currently possible. The basis was the dynamic generation and provision of a company-wide index by the Svizzer server, combined with user administration and the Svizzer desktop application . Access to the index server was possible via LAN, VPN or the Internet.

Svizzer Connect Server was an alternative to conventional information portals . The information seekers and the defined target group were given access to the database that they wanted to publish. Svizzer then regulated the access and authorizations of the users with the Connect Server and created its information structure per request with the Svizzer client. Unstructured databases were indexed and published on a separate server for access with Svizzer clients. The structuring then took place per request.
