history

The porcelain factory Swaine & Co. produced character dolls from 1910 - but only for a short time . For the collectors of “ antique dolls”, the brands S & C or S & Co. incised on the dolls in connection with a green stamp such as “PROTECTED GERMANY” until the publication of Cieslik's Lexicon of the German Doll Industry , the second revised one in 1999 Edition appeared puzzled for a long time.

Of porcelain heads of Swaine & Co. Also the letters sometimes find BP , DV and DV , D LORI DI , DIP and FP . According to the German Puppet Encyclopedia ( Cieslik's Lexicon ... ), a "[...] clear assignment" of dolls with these incisions is only possible in conjunction with the green stamp.
