The SwanCrystal is the third and, for the time being, last model in the WonderSwan series from Bandai . It was presented at the Tokyo Toy Show in 2002 as the successor to the WonderSwan Color . The suggested retail price was 7800 yen , which is about 50 euros .

After the first announcement, fans demanded a release outside of Japan. However, in view of the success of the Game Boy Advance, Bandai made a conscious decision not to launch it in Europe and the USA.

The most important innovation is the TFT display that has now been installed. This is larger, offers a much better display with the same resolution and makes the previously existing controller for setting the contrast unnecessary. However, the battery life is also reduced to 15 hours (instead of 20).

The SwanCrystal appeared in the colors blue, black, purple and wine red. As part of the WonderWitch Contest 2004, the last two games for the console, Dicing Knight Period and Judgment Silversword, were released.
