Swan Lake is a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal .
history
Swan Lake was formed in 2006 as a supergroup of Daniel Bejar, Carey Mercer and Spencer Krug. Daniel Bejar is a member of Destroyer and The New Pornographers . Mercer and Krug play together at Frog Eyes . Krug also runs other band projects with Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown . At first they played under the band name Thunder Cloud , until they noticed that the name was already being used by another band. Under the name Swan Lake they received a contract with the Jagjaguwar label and recorded a long player, which was released under the title Beast Moans in November 2006 and also received good reviews in Germany. Then the musicians went back to their other band projects. In 2008 the band went back to the studio and played a second long player called Enemy Mine , which was again released by Jagjaguwar in March 2009.
Trivia
