Swan Medal
The Swan Medal is a prize for applied physics from the Institute of Physics (IOP), awarded for outstanding applications of physics in industry or in a commercial environment. It is named after Joseph Wilson Swan (one of the early inventors of lightbulbs). It has been called that since 2012, before that it was awarded the Business and Innovation Medal . It is one of the IOP gold medals. The prize is endowed with £ 1,000.
