Swasey is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the front of the moon in the east of the Mare Smythii plain , west of the Hume crater and southeast of Warner . The crater is very flat, since the interior of the lava the Mare was flooded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1976 after the American inventor and astronomer Ambrose Swasey .
