Swiss Excellence Airplanes ( SEA ) is a Swiss aircraft manufacturer founded in 2014 by CEO Alberto Porto and a team of international engineering experts. The company is based in Lugano . Production takes place in Pavullo nel Frignano , Northern Italy, near Pavullo Airport.
history
SEA evolved from the Porto Ricerca company. Porto Ricerca is a consultancy for fluid dynamics and fine optimizations in construction. The company advises manufacturers of aircraft, sports cars and sailing yachts. The Porto Ricerca engineers came up with the idea of using their longstanding engineering knowledge to develop a light sport aircraft that is more innovative and more sophisticated than others in the category. After a few years of test runs with computer simulations, they presented their first aircraft, the Swiss Excellence Risen , at Aero Friedrichshafen in 2015 .

Awards
In 2016, CEO Alberto Porto received the De la Vaulx Medal from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale after setting a new absolute speed record in the R category with the Risen in 2015. For this record Alberto Porto also received an Oscar from the Italian VFR magazine.
