The Swiss Excellence Risen is a two-seater (side-by-side) low -wing aircraft in the ultralight class . It is produced by Swiss Excellence Airplanes . The aircraft was presented for the first time in 2015 at the AERO Friedrichshafen . In the same year it broke the absolute world record for speed in its class with 323.8 km / h (175 kn).

Design and development

The prototype was completed in 2012 and tested for 3 years. The final version was presented for the first time in 2015 at AERO Friedrichshafen . The cell has a reinforced safety structure made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic , but the low weight of the risen allows it to be registered as an ultralight aircraft. Thanks to the optimized shape, the Risen reaches higher speeds and has the best glide ratio in its class at 1:23.

Records

In 2016, the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale officially confirmed the world record for speed. The speed achieved with a regular Rotax 912 (100 PS; 74 kW) was 323.82 km / h (201 mph). This broke the absolute record for class R (microlights and paramotors) as well as for speed over a straight route (sub-class RAL2T). The regularly available version of the Risen was flown without modifications. For this record, the pilot Alberto Porto, who is also CEO of Swiss Excellence Airplanes , received an Oscar from the Italian VFR magazine and the De la Vaulx Medal from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
