from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Swoogle is a search engine that can search documents, terms and data on the semantic web . Swoogle crawls for RDF documents and HTML documents with embedded RDF content.

You can query Swoogle via a browser or for software via programming interfaces .

The result pages are listed using algorithms that are similar to PageRank , but taking into account the order structure of the semantic web.

Swoogle is developed and hosted by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).

The 'Swoogle' project was discontinued in May 2010.
