Sydney Tafler
Sydney Tafler (born July 31, 1916 in London , † November 8, 1979 ibid) was an English character actor .
Tafler appeared in many films and television productions from 1947 to 1977, and until the end of his life he appeared in various television series. His last film was The Spy Who Loved Me, with Roger Moore as James Bond . Here he played the captain of the Liparus, an employee of Karl Stromberg. Tafler appeared several times in films by British director Lewis Gilbert .
Tafler's wife was named Joy Shelton . They were married from 1947 until Tafler's death. Tafler had three children, one of whom is actor Jonathan Tafler , and five grandchildren.
Tafler died of cancer on November 8, 1979 at the age of 63.
