Sylvain Bemba

Sylvain Bemba (born February 17, 1934 in Sibiti , Republic of the Congo , † July 8, 1995 in Paris , France ) was a Congolese writer , musician and journalist . He was the editor of Liaison magazine , the first Congolese literary magazine, and influenced many younger colleagues, such as Sony Labou Tansi . Sometimes he used the pseudonyms Martial Malinda and Belvain Michel .

Bemba mainly wrote novels and plays that were published in French . Individual works have also been translated into other languages ​​as part of anthologies .

Bemba spent the last years of his life in exile in France.
