Sylvain Estibal
Sylvain Estibal (* 1967 in Uruguay ) is a French journalist, writer and director. He became known through the movie The Pig of Gaza (original title: Le Cochon de Gaza ), which received the César Prize in 2012 for the best first work.
He is the author of several books on the desert. Among them is a novel about the last days in the life of the legendary pilot Bill Lancaster , which was filmed in 2009 with Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard in the leading roles.
Since 2007, Estibal has worked as the head of photo editing for the Latin American department of Agence France-Presse .
