Sylvan Muldoon
Sylvan J. Muldoon ( February 18, 1903 , † October 1969 ) was an American author who wrote on the subject of astral projection, i.e. on consciously induced out-of-body experiences .
According to his own account, he had his first out-of-body experience at the age of twelve, and others often in a state of catalepsy . These experiences carried over into his adult life. In 1927 he contacted Hereward Carrington after reading his book Higher Psychic Development . In the letter he wrote: “What amazes me most is your remark that Monsieur Lancelin has shared almost everything that is known about astral wanderings. Well, Mr. Carrington, I have not read Monsieur Lancelin's book; but if you have reproduced the main content of your book, then I can write a book about the things Lancelin does not know! ”. It was a collaboration between the two, in the publication of the book in 1929 The Projection of the Astral Body (dt. The transmission of the astral body ) resulted. The book went a long way towards promoting the concept of the astral body . It has been translated into several languages and has received numerous new editions.
