from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sylvius Eberhard Freiherr von Franckenberg , also modernized Sylvius Eberhard von Frankenberg and Ludwigsdorf , (* 1682 ; † August 16, 1764 in Schmalkalden ) was a royal Swedish and princely Hesse-Kassel Real Privy Councilor , Oberamtmann zu Schmalkalden and manor owner .

Life

He came from the German aristocratic family Frankenberg , who spelled themselves with ck during their lifetime . He himself also did not use the later common addition of the family name and Ludwigsdorf or and Ludwigsdorff . His father was Sylvius Friedrich von Franckenberg, who worked as a Württemberg councilor and court judge. He had several older and younger brothers, some of whom had entered military service and remained in Württemberg while he himself entered administrative service. First he served the King of Sweden, then the Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel.

On August 30, 1741, Sylvius Eberhard Freiherr von Franckenberg bought Johann Georg von Ziegenhirt's two manors, Wernsdorf and Rössuln. The last-named place was then in the Secondary Principality of Saxony-Weißenfels and a little later fell back to the Electorate of Saxony .

In Schmalkalden he was chief steward for a long time and lived at court at the side of the widowed Duchess of Saxony-Zeitz.

He died in Schmalkalden and was buried on August 20, 1764 in the crypt in the Gottesackerkirche there.

Sylvius Friedrich Ludwig Freiherr von Frankenberg was his son and heir to his estates.
