Symposium (series of publications)

Symposion is a philosophical series of publications published by Karl Alber , Freiburg i. Br. / Munich. It brings systematic and historical research contributions, especially from younger scientists.

The series emerged in 1958 from a yearbook for philosophy symposium published between 1949 and 1954 . It was founded and published until 1975 by Max Müller , Bernhard Welte and Erik Wolf . From 1975 to 1994 they published Klaus Hemmerle , Alexander Hollerbach and Robert Spaemann . From 1994 to 2014 the editor was Maximilian Forschner and Ludger Honnefelder . From 2015 the series will be edited by Christoph Halbig (Zurich) and Jörn Müller (Würzburg). The first four volumes were by Michael Theunissen , Ernst Tugendhat , Karlfried Gründer and Odo Marquard . 133 volumes had been published by 2011.
