Symposium Ciceronianum Arpinas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Symposium Ciceronianum Arpinas is a scientific colloquium founded and led by the Italian classical philologist Emanuele Narducci , which accompanies the Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas , an international Latin competition for schoolchildren that has been held annually since 1980 in Cicero's birthplace Arpinum .

It is dedicated to the person and the work of Marcus Tullius Cicero . Various aspects of the entire work, various scientific approaches to it and its reception history from antiquity to the present were discussed. The early death of the organizer Emanuele Narducci in 2007 prevented a continuation of this research format.
