Operation and facilities

The Arago mine was between Großhurden, Bech and Heiligenhaus. There was a deep tunnel about 100 meters west of Heidermühle 7a, through which the material was also extracted. It included a dump near the houses on Grabenstrasse, which has been removed. There was also a preparation there . Then there was an upper tunnel on the northern mountain slope behind the houses of Heidermühle, which is no longer accessible. In the wooded steep slope you can find several pings from old mining and one ping from an air shaft . There is no information about the operational activities. However, the existing traces show that mining here took place in the Middle Ages at the latest .
