Synadene of Byzantium

Synadene of Byzantium († after 1077) was Queen of Hungary .

She was born the daughter of Theodulos Synadenus and was the niece of the Byzantine emperor Nikephorus III. Botaneiates .

Around 1065 she married the future Hungarian King Géza I after his first wife Sophie von Looz died after three years of marriage.

The couple had four children, with the descendants of the eldest son Álmos continuing the line of Hungarian kings after the death of the male descendants from the first marriage.

King Géza died in 1077 and Queen Synadene survived him. However, nothing is known about her further life and date of death.
