Synagogue in Bezdružice

The synagogue in Bezdružice (German Weseritz ), a town in Okres Tachov in the Czech Republic , was built in 1812. The secular synagogue , which is now privately owned, has been a protected cultural monument since 2008 . It was used as a storage room for decades. The women's gallery is still there and the remains of paintings and stucco decorations can still be seen.

Geniza

In 1996 a geniza was found under the rafters above the vault, which is now in the Jewish Museum in Prague . The geniza consists mainly of printed books and notebooks written in Hebrew .
