Former synagogue in Chęciny

The synagogue in Chęciny , a Polish city ​​in the Powiat Kielecki of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship , was built in 1638 and extended on the northern side in the 19th century, with the women's gallery being built. The derelict synagogue at 21 Długa Street has been a protected cultural monument since 1967 .

The synagogue building was devastated during the Second World War and then converted into a cinema . A bookstore was later opened there . A few years ago the former synagogue was converted into the city's cultural center.
