Synagogue in Chomutov

The synagogue in Chomutov (German Komotau ), the district town of Okres Chomutov in Ústecký kraj in the Czech Republic , was built in 1876 and destroyed in 1938. The synagogue was built in an orientalizing style .

history

In 1876 the new synagogue was opened under the direction of Dr. Sigmund Maybaum (1844–1919), rabbi in Saaz , inaugurated.

During the November pogrom in 1938 , the synagogue was burned down under the supervision of the fire brigade.
