The synagogue in Gorizia ( German  Gorizia ), the capital of the Italian province of Gorizia in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region , was built in 1756. The synagogue in the style of the Baroque is in Via Graziadio Isaia Ascoli 19, in the Jewish quarter of the city. Access from the street through an enclosed courtyard was established in 1894.

history

The Jewish community of Gorizia was dissolved in 1969 and the members of the community became part of the Jewish community of Trieste (see Synagogue (Trieste) ). The synagogue in Gorizia is only used for worship on high public holidays .

Since 1998 there has been a Jewish Museum on the first floor of the synagogue , which presents the history of the Jews in the city.
