history

The synagogue of the Jewish community in Horchheim , built in 1847 and last used by the Protestant church, had been vacant since 1908 . In 1911 the Jewish community in Heppenheim bought this synagogue building for 2,000 marks. The building was demolished and all usable material was brought to Heppenheim. The inauguration of the synagogue took place on 17./18. November 1911.

The synagogue was burned down during the November pogrom in 1938 and demolished a little later. The property went into private ownership and is now newly built.
