Malmo synagogue

The synagogue in Malmö ( Swedish Malmö synagoga , Hebrew מאלמה בית כנסת) is the only Jewish house of worship in the southern Swedish city. It was designed by the Swedish architect John Smedberg , built in 1903 and combines Art Nouveau and oriental elements. The construction costs amounted to 65,500 Swedish kronor . In it are Orthodox religious services held.

attack

The synagogue was the target of a bomb attack on July 23, 2010. The explosion was caused by some sort of fireworks device, but it contained too little gunpowder to seriously damage the building. The day before the attack, a notice was found on the door of the synagogue threatening an attack.
