Synagogue in Merano

The synagogue in Merano , the second largest city in the Italian province of South Tyrol , was built in 1900/01. The synagogue in Schillerstraße, built on behalf of the Jewish community of Merano , is a protected architectural monument .

The neoclassical synagogue was built according to the plans of the Musch & Lun architects. It was inaugurated on March 27, 1901. The sermon was given by Aron Tänzer , rabbi of the Merano Jewish community from 1905 to 1907 . The building was financially supported by the Königswarter Foundation .
