Synbiotic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A synbiotic (plurality synbiotics ) is a food added preparation that is a combination of a probiotic with a prebiotic the advantages of both synergistically to unite in themselves.

Adding prebiotics as fermentation substrates to probiotics can improve the viability of the microorganisms contained therein. In animal experiments, the combination of inulin (prebiotic) with bifidobacteria (probiotic) showed synergistic anti- carcinogenic effects. Scientists are currently working on transferring these results to humans.
