Syntomium is a genus of beetles from the family of the rove beetles (Staphylinidae) within the subfamily Omaliinae . It occurs in Europe only with Syntomium aeneum , which is also native to Central Europe.

features

The beetles have very shiny metallic bodies. The genus is characterized by its eye bumps, which are located very close to the compound eyes and by the feeler deflections underneath and by the lack of point eyes ( ocelli ).

Occurrence and way of life

The animals live in moss on trees and earth walls and also in moors.
