Systematics of the Senticaudata

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The classification of the Senticaudata was established in 2013 by James K. Lowry and Alan A. Myers . The Senticaudata are a newly described in 2013 subordination of amphipods (amphipods). In addition to numerous marine amphipods, they also include most of the known genera and species found in freshwater. The subordination is divided into six sub-orders . For the first time for the crustaceans , the term “Parvorder” is also introduced in this system, for a subdivision of the partial orders.

Partial orders

Of the four suborders of the amphipods, which comprise a total of around 9500 species, the suborder Senticaudata is the most species-rich. It is divided into six sub-orders:

Bogidiellida

Partial order Bogidiellida (3 families)

Carangoliopsida

Partial order Carangoliopsida (2 families)

Corophiida

Pariambus typicus (Caprellidae)
Cyamus boopis (Cyamidae)

Partial order Corophiida (21 families)

Gammarida

Gammarus roeseli (Gammaridae)

Partial order Gammarida (40 families)

Hadziida

Abludomelita obtusata (Melitidae)

Partial order Hadziida (12 families)

Talitrida

Beach flea ( Talitrus saltator ) (Talitridae)
Mexican flea shrimp ( Hyalella azteca ) (Hyalellidae)

Partial order Talitrida (15 families)

Incertae Sedis
