Szymon Czechowicz (* before July 22, 1689 in Cracow , † July 21, 1775 in Warsaw ) was a Polish Rococo painter .

Life

Czechowicz came from a family of goldsmiths. Thanks to the support of Franciszek Maksymilian Ossoliński , he was able to study painting at the Saint Luka Academy in Rome from 1711 . In 1731 he returned to Poland. Czechowicz mainly painted religious pictures and portraits (including the Ossoliński family, Jan Fryderyk Sapieha , Jan Klemens Branicki and Wacław Rzewuski )
