Témpano is a Venezuelan progressive rock band that was formed in February 1977.
history
Two years after the founding, Témpano released their debut album . It is considered Venezuela's first symphonic rock release . Then the line-up changed for the first time and the band turned to the mainstream in the 1980s. The only constant member remained drummer Gerardo Ubieda. In 1988, Témpano temporarily dissolved and ten years later came back together with several founding members. Since then, two new, internationally acclaimed retro-prog studio albums with jazz and folk influences have been created. New recordings of older pieces and new pieces were made available in 2008 on the free download album Selective Memory .
