Tóri Beinisson (* 959 in Skúvoy , Faroe Islands ; † 1005 in Suðuroyarfjørður ibid; also Þórir Beinisson , Tore Beinersson , Tórur Beinirson etc.) was a figure in the Faroese saga and an important actor in the Viking Age in the Faroe Islands .

Tóri was the son of the landowner Beinir Sigmundsson and his consort Tóra .

Together with his younger cousin Sigmundur Brestisson , he witnessed the murder of Brestir and Beinir , their fathers , in 970 . After this bloody act, he and Sigmundur were adopted by the Viking chief Tróndur í Gøtu , who actually wanted to kill them on the spot, but his uncle Svínoyar-Bjarni had scruples after he had already killed their fathers.

Tóri died in 1005 when his cousin Sigmundur tried to swim to rescue him from Skúvoy to Suðuroy .
