Türksat 4B is a commercial communications satellite of the Turkish Türksat .

It was placed in geostationary / polar orbit on October 16, 2015 at 16:40 UTC with a Proton M / Bris-M launcher from the Baikonur rocket launch site .

The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with 18 Ku-band , 8 Ka-band and further C-band transponders (43 in total) and, from a position of 50 ° East, is intended to cover a large region from western China to eastern England, including Turkey and Europe , Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa with telecommunication services and television. It was built on the basis of the DS2000 satellite bus from Mitsubishi Electric and has a planned service life of 15 to 30 years.
