Berlin Türkspor 1965 (short: Türkspor Berlin ) is a football club from Berlin-Kreuzberg that was founded in 1965 . The home of the migrant association is the Jungfernheide sports complex , and at times Türkspor played its home games in the Willy Kressmann Stadium .

history

Türkspor Berlin first appeared in higher-class West Berlin football in 1989 when it was promoted to the Landesliga Berlin, the predecessor of today's Berlin League . After reaching eighth place in the opening season, they were promoted to the Oberliga Nordost in 1991, ahead of favorite clubs like SC Staaken or 1. FC Wilmersdorf .

The Oberliga held the Kreuzberger against former GDR Oberligisten until 1994 with mostly secured midfield positions, but rose again in the 1994/95 season with SV Preußen Berlin and FC Neubrandenburg from the fourth division. In the following period, Türkspor shuttled between the association and state leagues until 2000.

The greatest success in the club's history was the successful entry into the finals of the Berlin State Cup in 1999 , in which Berlin Türkspor lost 4-1 to the regional league team BFC Dynamo in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark .

Afterwards, Türkspor sank back into lower Berlin leagues. In December 2017, the club merged with SpVgg Hellas-Nordwest 04 , the name of which disappeared completely as a result of the merger, and has been in the Berlin League since then. According to the Football Week special 2018/19, Chairman Metin Yilmaz can imagine "further mergers".
