The 1. FC Wilmersdorf is a German football club from Berlin . It was created in 1989 through the merger of Wilmersdorfer SC with SV Preußen Wilmersdorf . The home of the club is the Blissestraße sports facility at Volkspark Wilmersdorf , which can accommodate 1,000 spectators.

Prussia Wilmersdorf

Prussia Wilmersdorf was founded in 1913 under the name Wilmersdorfer BC Prussia . In 1920 BC Prussia merged with Wilmersdorfer SC , but this connection was broken again in 1923. In 1933 there was a renewed merger with SC Olympia 1921 Wilmersdorf , until 1945 the club joined as the Prussian Olympia Wilmersdorf . The Prussian Olympics always played in a lower class until 1945, and no participation in the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg took place.

With the cessation of gaming operations, the club was dissolved in 1945. A new establishment in the form of a sports group like the one at SG Wilmersdorf was not carried out immediately. It was not until 1961 that Prussia Wilmersdorf was re-established. The most successful times in Wilmersdorf in terms of sport were the 1970s. 1973 succeeded together with the BSC Rehberge in 1945 the first promotion to the amateur league Berlin , which the Prussians had to leave despite an eleventh place due to the establishment of the football league Berlin . In 1975 the Prussians returned to the amateur league, but rose again with the SC Staaken and Traber FC Mariendorf immediately. After several years of the Landesliga , the club rose to the Oberliga Berlin in 1983, but this time missed relegation behind the Neukölln Sportfreunde . In the following period, the club commuted between state and district league. In 1989, the two regional division teams Prussia Wilmersdorf and Wilmersdorfer SC 1911 merged to form 1. FC Wilmersdorf 1911 .

1. FC Wilmersdorf

The 1. FCW has played in higher table regions immediately since it was founded. In 1994 the club also won the championship of the Association League Berlin and was promoted to the Oberliga Nordost . Berlin held the league for two seasons until 1996 . In 1997, the FCW was passed through to the national league. In the recent past, the club has swung between the association or Berlin league (2011 to 2017) and the state league without exception .
