Fanol Përdedaj (born July 16, 1991 in Đakovica , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a German - Kosovar football player .

Birth and childhood

Fanol Përdedaj was born in Đakovica, then Yugoslavia , immigrated to Germany with his family of Albanian origin in his childhood and grew up in the capital Berlin .

Club career

In his youth, Përdedaj first played at TSV Lichtenberg and then at 1. FC Wilmersdorf , before joining Hertha BSC's youth team shortly before his eleventh birthday .

Before the 2009/10 season , Fanol Perdedaj was appointed to the professional squad for the first time by coach Lucien Favre . However, he was initially only used for the second team in the Regionalliga Nord and was repeatedly on the bench with the Bundesliga team.

After Fabian Lustenberger and Pál Dárdai lost due to injuries , Përdedaj made his debut for the first team on August 14, 2010 in the first round of the DFB Cup in a 2-0 win in Pfullendorf . Just six days later, Perdedaj played for the first time in the 2nd Bundesliga in a 3-2 home win over Rot-Weiß Oberhausen .

In November 2010, he prematurely extended his contract with Hertha BSC until 2015.

In the second division 2010/11 season he was repeatedly used as a substitute, but was initially still fourth choice in defensive midfield behind Peter Niemeyer, Fabian Lustenberger and Raffael under coach Markus Babbel .

With Andreas Ottl, another competitor was added for the 2011/12 season and Perdedaj only found himself on the bench in the first half of the season. It was not until March 3, 2012 that he made his debut relatively surprisingly under new coach Otto Rehhagel in the 1-0 win against Werder Bremen as a representative of Peter Niemeyer in the Berlin starting line-up.

In preparation for the 2012/13 season Perdedaj was sorted out by coach Jos Luhukay from the professional squad and transferred to the second team. In early September 2012, Perdedaj moved on loan to the Danish second division club Lyngby BK . He signed a contract until the end of June 2013. In addition, the club secured a purchase option in the event of immediate promotion to the super league .

After his return to Berlin for the 2013/14 season, Përdedaj found himself again in the U-23 squad. Until the winter break he made five appearances in the Regionalliga Nordost before moving to the 2nd Bundesliga at Energie Cottbus on January 16, 2014 , where he received a contract until June 30, 2015. Perdedaj did not extend his contract and moved to the 2nd division for FSV Frankfurt .

After relegating to the third division with Frankfurt, he left the club in summer 2016 and moved to TSV 1860 Munich . After he was also relegated with the lions , he left the club again. In the winter break of the 2017/18 season there were considerations to return to the Munich team, but Përdedaj then joined the southwest regional division 1. FC Saarbrücken .

National team career

On September 21, 2009 Përdedaj received German citizenship , after which he was nominated by Horst Hrubesch for the German U19 selection , in which Përdedaj made his debut on November 18, 2009 against the Scottish selection (final score 0-0). Also in the qualification for the U19 European Championship 2010 , which was missed, Perdedaj was then repeatedly used.

On October 11, 2010 Përdedaj made his debut for the German U-21 team when he was substituted on for Christoph Moritz by coach Rainer Adrion in the friendly against Ukraine shortly before the end of the game .

On March 5, 2014, Përdedaj made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Haiti in the first unofficial friendly match of the then Kosovar selection against a FIFA member. He also played the 2-0 win against the Faroe Islands in Kosovo's debut as a FIFA member .
