Maurice John Deville (born July 31, 1992 in Sulingen , Germany ) is a Luxembourg- German football player . He is a Luxembourg national player and plays for 1. FC Saarbrücken .

Childhood and youth

Deville is the son of the Luxembourg soccer player Franck Deville and a German mother. He is a national of both countries.

Career

Deville played in the youth of Swift Hesperingen until 2007 and then moved to Germany for SC Uckerath . In a game with a Luxembourg U national team, he was noticed by scouts of the then German second division team Alemannia Aachen , to which he moved shortly afterwards. Deville played in the youth leagues with his youth teams.

After the end of his youth career he went to the fourth division club SV Elversberg . Deville made his senior debut on August 13, 2011 when he came on as a substitute for Christian Grimm on the second matchday of Regionalliga West against the second team of Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 80th minute. After advancing to the 3rd division , Deville moved in 2013 to league competitor 1. FC Saarbrücken , for whom his father had already played. At the beginning of 2014 he was demoted to the second team by the coach. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the second team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern . On August 16, 2015 Deville made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored his first goal for 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

In the 2016/17 season he was awarded for one year to the third division club FSV Frankfurt . He scored his first goal for FSV Frankfurt on his debut against Hansa Rostock.

At the beginning of July 2017, the offensive player signed a two-year contract with the regional league club SV Waldhof Mannheim and extended it for another year in April 2019. On April 20, 2019, Deville celebrated promotion to the 3rd division with the Waldhöfern and thus returned to professional football. For the 2020/21 season, Deville moved back to his former club 1. FC Saarbrücken, where he signed a two-year contract.

National team

Deville has been playing for Luxembourg since the U-19s . He made his debut for the senior national team on November 15, 2011 when he came on for René Peters in the 88th minute in the 0-1 defeat in the friendly against Switzerland in Luxembourg City . On February 29, 2012, Deville marked his first two goals for the national team in the 2-1 win over Macedonia .
