Manuel Zeitz (born August 1, 1990 in Völklingen ) is a German football player . His preferred position is the central midfield.
Career
In the club
Zeitz started playing football at the age of three at SC Großrosseln. His talent was recognized early on and in 2004 he moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken in the C-Youth. On September 5, 2008 he came there for his first competitive game against SG Bad Breisig in the Oberliga Südwest . At the end of the season Saarbrücken was promoted to the regional league as a league champion , in which Zeitz had a share in the championship of the Regionalliga West and the associated march through to the third division with eleven goals in 32 missions . In the third division he played 31 games in which he scored six goals. The kicker voted him the best defensive midfielder of the first half of the 2010/11 season.
In the summer of 2011 Zeitz moved to the Bundesliga on a free transfer and joined 1. FC Nürnberg . Here he was only used in the second team in the Regionalliga Süd , for which he made his debut in the starting line-up on August 20, 2011 in the game against SV Waldhof Mannheim .
For the 2012/13 season Zeitz was the SC Paderborn 07 borrowed. During the summer break of 2013, SC Paderborn signed Zeitz firmly; he signed a two-year contract. In the first half of the 2013/14 season, however, he did not get beyond the role of a supplementary player at SCP, so he was awarded to his former club 1. FC Saarbrücken in the second half of the season.
In the summer of 2014 Zeitz moved to the 3rd division at Energie Cottbus and received a two-year contract until June 2016, which was extended early in 2015 to June 30, 2018. Despite the contract extension, Zeitz moved back to his home country for 1. FC Saarbrücken after relegating to the third division with Energie Cottbus for the 2016/17 season .
National team
On August 31, 2010, DFB coach Frank Wormuth called him into the squad of the German U20 national team for the game on Monday, September 6th, against the Swiss U20 national team.
