René Peters (born June 15, 1981 in Dudelange ) is a Luxembourg soccer player and today's coach .
Career
society
Peter's homeland club is SC Tetingen . From July 1999 to June 2000 he was under contract with the Belgian club Standard Liège in youth. He then played from 2000 to 2001 for the French club US Créteil , where he remained without a league game. From 2001 to 2008 he played with Swift Hesperange in his home country Luxembourg . He then moved to league competitor Jeunesse Esch , with whom he became Luxembourg champion in 2010 .
Following the lost cup final in 2012 against F91 Dudelange (2: 4 after extra time ), Peters left Jeunesse and moved to FC RM Hamm Benfica . After the relegation of FC RM Hamm Benfica to the honorary doctorate , Peters moved to CS Grevenmacher for the 2014/15 season . After another year at Jeunesse Esch , Peters moved to the 2017/18 season as a player and assistant coach for BGL Ligue promoted US Hostert . He ended his playing career after the 2018/19 season.
National team
Peters was in the national team several times and competed in several competitions. In 2002/2003, 2006/2007 and 2010/2011 he took part in the EM qualification. In 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 he played several friendlies. He also played in the squad for World Cup qualification in Europe in 2006 and 2010. In 2013 he ended his career in the national team.
Trainer
For the 2019/20 season , Peters took over the position of head coach from Henri Bossi at US Hostert . But already on March 8, 2020, he was dismissed there after a series of four defeats in eleventh place. From summer 2020, Peters then worked as a youth coach in the football school of the Luxembourg Football Association .
